Ahok: I would Lead Rally to Cast Protest

Jakarta Governor Basuki ‘Ahok’ T Purnama acknowledged there are some civil servants serving under Jakarta Provincial Government who often conduct budget fraud. No wonder, many cases are handled by the Attorney General’s Office.

According to Ahok, he always monitors the progress of cases involving his subordinates. But if there were attorney generals used their position to blackmail the civil servants, he will not hesitate to protest them and even hold demonstration.

“I would lead a rally to cast protest if there were attorney generals dared to threaten sub-district and urban village heads who made sins,” he asserted, Friday (11/21).

Ahok disclosed that all this time there are Attorney General’s Office employees tried to blackmail the civil servants involved in cases, to secure their positions. Hence, he hopes for the new Attorney General HM Prasetyo, who just been inducted by President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo, to fix the management in the Attorney General’s Office, so such practice would not happen again in the future.

“I don’t really know this Attorney General, but I think it’s impossible for Mr. President to decide something without consideration. I know Mr. Jokowi well. It’s impossible for him to decide something without a reason,” stated Ahok.
